ABOUT ANM (AUXILIARY NURSE MIDWIFE) PROGRAMME

ANM course is a 2 years diploma course in Nursing that focuses on providing basic nursing care to individuals, families, and communities. The course typically includes coursework in anatomy, physiology, nutrition, community health nursing, maternal and child healthcare, first aid, and midwifery. Registered ANM play a crucial role in primary healthcare settings, particularly in rural areas, where they assist in healthcare delivery, disease prevention, and health education. They often work under the supervision of registered nurses or physicians. This course is affiliated and approved by UP State Medical Faculty, Lucknow, and the Indian Nursing Council, Delhi.

Eligibility Criteria B.sc Nursing
  • The minimum age for admission is 17 yrs as on 31st December of the year in which admission is sought. The maximum age limit for admission is 35 yrs.
  • Minimum Educational qualification
    • a: Candidate with science who has passed the qualifying 12th standard examination (10+2) and must have obtained a minimum of 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together and passed in English individually.
    • b: Candidates are also eligible from State open School recognized by state Government and National Institute of Open School (NIOS) recognized by Central Government having Science subjects and English only.
    • c: English is a compulsory subject in 10+2 or being for admission to B.Sc (Nursing).
  • Color blind candidates are eligible provided that color corrective contact lens and spectacles are worn by such candidates.
  • Candidate shall be medically fit.
  • Married candidates are also eligible for admission.
  • Students shall be admitted once in a year.

  • The maximum age for admission shall be 35 years.
  • The minimum educational requirement is passing of 12 years f schooling (10+2 year course) recognized by CBSE/ Ice/ SSSCE/ HCE or a recognized equivalent examination.

Admission Procedure B.sc Nursing

Selection of candidate is based on entrance examination (CET) conducted by ABVMU followed by counselling.
